Medicare certified home health in Port Arthur, TX
Medicare Pays 100%
Because Pulse Homecare maintains Medicare certification, traditional Medicare pays 100% of allowable charges for qualified beneficiaries. These patients have no co-pay, no deductible to meet, and no cost sharing of any kind.

Under federal regulations, Medicare beneficiaries have the right to choose any qualified provider of service, and this legally-guaranteed right extends to home health agencies. No company may restrict your access to other services based on your choice of home health provider. Here's why you should insist on Pulse Homecare: [Leading Texas in Quality]
An exception to this rule may happen through preferred provider networks such as when you sign on to a Medicare Advantage plan.

Medicare Advantage plans generally have coverage for home health services but may limit your post-acute care severely in terms of coverage compared to the traditional benefit and in terms of choice of provider. Your choices will usually not be based on which providers have the highest quality of care or satisfaction scores. Check your home health benefit and other referral-based care coverage before opting in to a Medicare Advantage plan.

Other health insurance typically has coverage for home health with normal deductible and copay considerations.

Qualifications
Because coverage for home health is such a great program, Medicare sets forth a set of qualifications patients should meet before qualifying for coverage. Other insurance generally follows Medicare's home health qualifications.

Homebound: Most importantly, patients should meet Medicare's definition of homebound. This does not mean a patient can't leave the home. Homebound means that patient's need equipment (such as canes or walkers) or human assistance to leave the home safely; that leaving the home requires a taxing effort or is against medical advice; and that trips away from the home are infrequent and of short duration. Patients may be temporarily homebound due to injury or illness.

Physician Supervision: Home health patients must be under the care of a doctor (MD, DO, or DPM) for the home health diagnosis. Pulse Homecare values the doctor/patient relationship and never asks patients to switch doctors. We work with the doctor(s) you have chosen and already know to seamlessly coordinate your home health services.

Skilled Need: The initial care plan must include services particular to a registered nurse, physical therapist, or speech therapist.
